I’ve officially finished a month here as SilverTech’s newest intern and in just four weeks I’ve learned so much about social media and technology in today’s marketplace.
SilverTech always aims to be ahead of the curve so, in addition to blogging, I’ve been working on quite a few projects. I’ve recently become friends with Excel and the fax machine, as well as the company’s Flickr account (there are some great pictures of the iPad giveaway that can also be found on Facebook!)
Besides developing the most cutting-edge technology, SilverTech is a company that makes work fun through creative projects and a relaxed atmosphere. For example, today I created a list of popular 80’s movie characters. Nick, SilverTech’s president, wants to rename the company’s conference rooms something more creative than just their locations (the Second Floor Conference Room doesn’t roll off the tongue particularly well).
But don’t assume that the casual dress code of shorts and flip flops has gone to anyone’s head. Everyone here at SilverTech is dedicated to fulfilling clients’ needs. The SilverTech team seems to live by the motto “work hard, play hard” and it shows.
SilverTech was recently awarded the Digital Agency of record for the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY. CVPH has been named one of the best hospitals in the country for heart care and has chosen SilverTech to design their new website and take over all web and digital services!
The award couldn’t have come at a better time. SilverTech has clients from all over the country in diverse fields such as retail, banking, and hospitality, but SilverTech has recently expanded their reach into the healthcare market.
The ability to research healthcare questions and concerns online has become increasingly important to internet users as more than half of online users research healthcare information on the Web. Healthcare organizations are looking for ways to bridge the gap between hospitals and these younger, Internet savvy users. The number of healthcare organizations that are making incremental changes to their Website has increased to 14.7% (2008) from 8.8% (2007) and SilverTech has taken note.
In about six weeks, three members of the SilverTech team will be attending the annual SHSMD healthcare conference. The conference will take place September 12-15 in Chicago (keep an eye out for SilverTech at Booth #108 or at the round tables SilverTech is leading on Search Engine Optimization and Social Media!) Preparation for the conference began weeks ago and I’ve gotten the chance to help out. I’ve made checklists, organized binders, filled out forms, and even helped write the agency description that will be displayed in the program.
Even though I will not be around when the SHSMD conference actually happens, I’ve been lucky enough to hear some other exciting announcements. For example, SilverTech has been selected to work with big-name brands Polartec and Sharp Electronics! Of course, there have been dozens of other launches but they just won’t fit in this post, so I hope you all decide to follow SilverTech’s example and stay up-to-date on your social media and digital strategies.
